Michael & Jessica Wilkinson,
Missionaries in El Salvador, Central America
For nearly twenty years, Michael and Jessica Wilkinson lived and served in their beloved city of Pascagoula, Mississippi. During that time, Michael served on staff at Arlington Baptist Church, and Jessica taught high school public speaking and debate.
In July 2024, God called them to a new season of ministry: serving as missionaries in El Salvador. In response to that calling, Vinedresser Ministries was established to support and empower Michael and Jessica as they pursue the work God has set before them.
In August of 2025, they moved to San Salvador to begin studying Spanish, acclimating to a new culture, and learning from the most faithful and effective churches in the country. They continue working in partnership with churches they know and trust while also cultivating new relationships in areas where a strong gospel witness is still needed.
The name Vinedresser Ministries comes from Luke 13:6–9. When the owner of the field sees that the fig tree isn’t producing as expected and decides to cut it down, the vinedresser intercedes on its behalf. He says, “Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around and put on manure. Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.”
In the spirit of Paul’s missionary journeys, the compassion of the vinedresser reflects the heart of this ministry – to provide support to Gospel-centered church planting movements in the country through leadership training, pastoral encouragement, facilitating mission teams, and evangelism in communities and schools. Michael and Jessica’s desire is to see churches strengthened, believers equipped, and lives transformed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
